Professional-grade food cake?

I'm looking to buy a professional grade plate of cake to decorate my wife. I really want a metal with a heavy base that can handle large cakes. I found one I liked, but it has a tilting lid. Any suggestions on what brands to look at or certain features to consider or avoid? Is having a tilting lid as useful as it seems? No local bakery shops of the source, so it is sorted in line. I would like to know from personal experience that the tables / features to look at or avoid.
