What is alum?

I have a recipe for Clay Baker. It is a recipe for clay I want to do for my three years of age. Only I have no idea what is alum and that makes it very difficult to create this recipe. Thanks for all your help.

You should be able to find alum in the spice in your area supermarket. It is used to make pickles – that keeps them crisp. It was used long time ago in medicine to help heal the wounds – which has a gathering effect and is excellent and effective for use in Cancor sores (ulcors acid) in your mouth if you eat too many tomatoes. I imagine that alum is used to help bind the clay as not issue of the recipie.
