Art Mold
How I can make a robust 2 'area for a work of art?

I need to create or buy an area of approximately 2 "in diameter. You must be strong enough to support plaster casts or foam filled molded human arms attached to the surface as if radiating from the origin. So optimal, the arms must be well enough attached to the sphere of support from the ground. I am open to any idea of what the material of the sphere, arms, or how to connect the two.

Use a large beach ball (they come in sizes up to 5 feet), place it in a plastic garbage bag, then covered with foil, tape if necessary. place on a round waste paper basket / bin, painting or palette with fiberglass resin and covered with cloth fiberglass; cure, inverted repeat. Build as many layers as you think you need to keep strong. You should sand between coats. Follow all precautions when working with fiberglass resin. Once cured, be able to drill and bolt fittings. You could do paper mache, if your attachments are similar. That would much easier, cheaper and less toxic. It would be like a giant piñata. See video links below:
